Today in class, we started experimenting with aligning our chakra in an energy exercise. I was lying next to one of my classmates on the floor while doing this, and everyone was instructed to close their eyes and visualize each of the different color chakras in turn. This was the first time I'd done this, and I'm still a bit skeptical, but I did my best to be open minded and I vividly imagined orbs of radiant light over my body over the proper chakra channels, and allowed them to sink one by one into my body and fill me with light. It was an interesting exercise, to say the least, and I came out of it feeling a strange energy.
I thought I could feel my solar plexus chakra especially well during the meditation, and the color red of the root chakra was the most vivid color I saw, next to green heart and yellow solar plexus.
When we were told to open our eyes and sit up when ready, my aforementioned classmate stayed on the ground for a good while longer. She shakily got up shortly, and told me that she couldn't move immediately after the exercise, though she could look around. She then told me that, the entire duration of the meditation, her left arm and shoulder burned as if she were sitting by a campfire; it was almost unbearable for her to stand. She suspected that the burning feeling was my doing, though I had no intention of doing so, nor any awareness of anyone else's "aura", even my own.
I don't plan on having a future in energy techniques, nor do I have any prior experience in seeing, feeling, or moving energy in people. However, I am curious as to why/how this could occur in a chakra methodology, and even if it's possible.
