Can not install game with Steam?

Just bought Railworks, put the disc in and it says for the activation key. I type this in and this message comes up:

Your computer is either currently unable to reach the Steam servers, or the service may be temporarily disabled. Please try again later.

I know I've got full signal on internet.

Any ideals?
