Hi - welcome to the AC forums.

So... if you go into the settings (Menu -> Settings -> Wireless controls.. may be different on your device) and check Wi-Fi so it's turned on, what happens? Is there an error? Does it uncheck itself so it's turned off? In Wi-Fi settings where it lists the Wi-Fi networks in range, is anything listed there (such as your Wi-Fi network)?

I go into the settings (Menu -> Settings -> Wireless controls, and check Wi-Fi but it's not turned on, there is an error, it does uncheck itself so it's turned off

In Wi-Fi settings where it doent list any Wi-Fi networks.

I think, I found yesterday;

I go into the settings (Menu -> Settings -> Wireless controls -> WiFi Settings ->advanced ->Regulatory domain) there are 3 options namely;

- 11 channels,
- 13 channels and
- 14 channels

I checked with the working one, in working one none of the above options was chosen. in my non working machine one of them is choosen. How can I have all unchecked?

Thanks...

You probably need WiFi to be on to be able to select on of the regulatory domains.

I've seen something similar to this with BlueTooth, where a user activates BlueTooth but it immediately turns back off. It was a hardware problem. The way I diagnosed it was by running an app called Log Collector (the free one on the Market) immediately after trying to activate BlueTooth (or WiFi in your case). However, without WiFi, can you access the Market on your device?

The Log Collector app grabs the Android system log. It should include information about anything interesting (errors, information, debug stuff) that happened to your phone in the last few minutes. You should give you the option to email the log to somewhere (yourself would be good). Get the email on your PC or Mac or whatever, and copy and paste it here and I'll see if I can spot what's going wrong.

So... in short:
Try and activate WiFi.
Run Log Collector -> Email log to yourself.
Copy and paste the log here.

when i got my wifi to work i restarted my g1 and now wifi wont turn back but honestly i dont really know what i did in the first place to make it work
