Can Nokia firmware update be done via bluetooth?

come on now....every firmware update for almost any electronic requires you to power off the phone. you think youd be able to update firmware on your phone if you were using bluetooth? OTA updates are a special exception to the powering off rule. simple answer: no

2 votes for no. While PC Suite does let you connect your device over Bluetooth, NSU specifically requires the data cable to update firmware.

It cannot, but even if it did can you imagine sending 70+mb files via bluetooth

even with the faster bluetooth 2.0 it would take long.

It's a shame really. Too many horror stories of the popport data cable coming lose and bricking the phone.

Here's to mini-USB!

Well there is something similar to that called Firmware Over the air (FOTA).
It uses any internet connection to download the firmware minimizing the risk of failing that the USB cable has.

And right N80 and I think N95 also has it.
