Can Nokia add the E62's IM client to the E61?

Via firmware update that is? Really, thats the only thing I want besides a native headphone jack on my E61. I really hate the fact that I have to use Agile Messenger to use IM.

If they can, I hope every E61 here can put some email pressure on them to do so...

Good initiative man. But they could just release the install file for it, no need to distribute it in firmware only. Let's also push them to add the 2.0 browser to the firmware update.

Yeah seriously! This is a great phone and I don't see why we can't get the better IM client and whatever browser updates we can get!

Hey guys, I started a thread on the Nokia discussion forums so hopefully more E61 users will be aware of the better IM client in the E62. If you want this feature as much as I do, please post here or contact Nokia via email so we can see if we can get this client as well!

Is there any evidence that Nokia developed this IM client? Perhaps Cingular developed it, or paid for the development.

Um, YES. Let me know what I can do to help spread the word. I hate agile too--- half the time aol doesnt work... Why should I pay for that?

you could just push AOL and Microsoft and Yahoo to come out witha s60v3 client of their own that connects directly to there servers. that would be more effective than nokia coming out with one.

Sure I would love it if a usable $&^% IM Client were added to the e61. The point is there is no doubt financial motivation for them to want ppl in the US to buy e62s. Cingular would rather we not use wifi.

Oh man if its that easy to get, I'm going to laugh.

I really want a good client for the E61. It's amazing that Nokia didn't include one for a phone with Wifi.

what if you "delete" the application, and then ask them to email it to you or send it OTA possibly. Then store it on your memory card.
