Can my wife and I swap phones after upgrading

I have a family plan with my wife and son. I need a new phone and my wife wants a better one. Since we both are eligable for upgrades. Can I buy what she wants on my primary line and what I want on her line then swap them? I don't like fancy phones so it would be much cheaper if I can do this.

Any help would be appreciated
 
I dont think there would be any issues with this.

That being said, if you do have any issues just buy the phones however it would be cheaper, then go back to the store later that day or the next day when there is a different Rep to help you, and just give them the story that the phone your wife got is too complicated, and you would rather have it and vice-versa.

After you purchase the phones, just tell a rep you want to put X phone on X line and Y phone on Y line or vice versa. You don't need to give them a story. You can put any VZW phone on any line you wish. It's a simply ESN swap. You might or might not get charged for it (depends on the rep or whether or not VZW has changed their policy regarding ESN swapping).
 
Don't do complicated transactions online...not such a good idea. You may accidentally terminate your line of service or do something you'd regret.

If you get both the phones, activate them to the lines they're supposed to be on. Then call customer service and request them to just swap them.

You shouldn't even need to visit a store!
