can my parents read my text messages online? with verizon?

They can't see what you text or hear what you say, but they can see who you call or text. Of course, when you leave your phone lying around, no reason they can't read your texts then. Erase your old messages, both sent and received.
 
so, i have been thinking, & i haven't said that bad of anything, but things my parents wouldn't approve, is there a website they can get on & access my text messages? or when i babysit, i get my phone, & they say they can see if i send one or call someone, so i don't. but can they really?
