For the past several months I have been following the steps to enlist in the Navy. I am at the point now where all I have left to do is go to MEPS. I have already taken the ASVAB and scored a 95, and I recently graduated college with two B.S. degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice. My Navy recruiter is steering me towards the Nuclear Program, which does interest me but has nothing to do with my degrees. I have considered the Air Force because if I am not going to be working in my educational field I would like the chance to become a pilot.
My concern is that if I decide to join the Air Force I will have to start from day one, essentially wasting the last three months. Paying off my student loans is my main concern and I have been assured that the navy will pay off my federal loans over the course of my enlistment. If anyone has any knowledge of this issue please respond, Thanks in advance.
