I had bad dental work done, so I went to a new dentist with the x rays from my past dentist, but I'm not happy with this new dentist, and I want to find another dentist (I'm really starting to dislike dentists). Can my current dentist keep my original dentist's x rays? They are still relevant, so I don't want to have to pay to do them again. I've read that x rays belong to the dentist, which is a little vague in my situation, but I've also read it spelled out as the x rays belong to the photographer. If the original dentist gave me my x rays, and i brought it to my current dentist, does he get to keep them and charge me for copies, or are those x rays rightfully mine?
I also went to a completely different medical facility and paid out of pocket (a pretty hefty fee) for fancy 3D x rays that were then sent to my current dentist. Do these also belong to me?
