Can my betta fish go in a bigger tank?

I got a little bowl for my betta fish. I know that is what people recommend but I was wondering if I could use a bigger tank.
 
Only an uneducated person would suggest a bowl. All fish require appropriate swimming space, filtration, and in this case heating.

A single male betta should have about a five gallon tank, a gentle filter, and an aquarium heater to maintain the temperature between 77F-82F.

I keep one of my bettas in a ten gallon aquarium with a school of rasboras.
