talented novelists? It isn't easy for to reduce him to "one of America's most talented novelists" when I know he is the greatest, but I'm up for compromise. As a reader of serious, major literature, it drives me quite crazy to read all these posts about Jewish dragons and English wizards. I'd really like to know if anyone out here even knows about serious literature.
So, that's why I'm here to compromise--I want to see if anyone on this forum thinks Philip Roth is one of America's most talented novelists. You don't have to say he is the best (although he is). And you don't have to say you like his work (although you know you do). All you need to say is, "Yes, Philip Roth is a talented novelist. I agree."
