Can I write off the taxes on the pre-owned car I bought in 2009?

I think this is straight a forward question so not sure I need to elaborate.

However, I bought a 2005 pre-owned Toyota in Northern California in May of 2009 and want to know, even though it is not brand spanking new, if I can write off the taxes on my 2009 itemized taxes?
