Can I use the battery from my water damaged phone in my new phone without

it damaging the new phone? this not so smart salesperson says the battery from my old phone that was dropped in water would end up causing damage to my new phone if i use it the new phone. Another sales person over the phone says she's never heard of such a thing... So, anyone know?
