can i use my samsung instinct as a prepaid phone?

i don't use my phone anymore and don't want to get another plan with Sprint but instead of buying another phone, i would like to know if it's possible to just activate my phone and use it with a prepaid provider? any or all suggestions or help welcome! thanks.
