I have a PV-8405S VCR (Yeah I know, really old) and I'm trying to get my DVD player to work on it. I've hooked up the A/V cables in the back, but cannot figure out how to get it to work. I have looked in the manual, and all it says about the A/V cables is to connect another VCR to it to copy a tape. Any suggestions? My other VCR which broke had an L1 and L2 option, but I cannot figure out if this one does or not.

Generally any DVD player will work with any VCR and TV hookup. You need an RCA type jumper cable. The red and white go to the right and left audio input jacks on the VCR (outputs on the DVD) and the yellow goes to the video jacks.
