Can I use my cellphone when I travel?

I live in California and I have t-mobile and I also have unlimited text. I'm gonna be traveling to New Jersey to visit family and I was just wondering if I could bring my cellphone to New Jersey and still use it? Like can I still text and call people in California while I am in New Jersey without getting extra fees?
 
Yes you can. Cellphones over long distance within the United States in both voice and messaging without additional fees. As long as you don't go out of the country you should be fine. Have a safe trip.
