I have a hutch that has been painted with a flat paint (plain latex). The paint job is well done and the color is not anything I want to change. The thing I would like to change is the gloss look. I would like it to have more of a semi-gloss or gloss look. I would also like it to have a little more protection since I am moving it to a more used room. Can I just use a gloss polyurethane on it or is it bad to use gloss polyurethane on flat paint? I have polyurethaned things before, I have just never used it on flat paint before. Any help?
