Can I use dishsoap for cleaning my grooming tools?

So,I need to clean my grooming brushes for the ponies. Can I use like dish soap? Thanks!
See, I'd use the dishwasher, but my mom would have a fit.

Yeah, that's fine as long as you get all of it out.

I put my brushes in the dishwasher and then wash them like you wash dishes. Then I run the dishwasher once again just to be extra-sanitary... though it's perfectly clean, the dishwasher takes care of everything.

Sure! the key to it is that you use very warm almost hot, hot water and then make sure you rinse them several times with very warm, almost hot, hot water.

yes you can i even sometimes use dawn and ivory soap to bath my horse so i would imagiane that it would be fine.=]
