Can I use an iPhone with Tmobile?

I'm hearing different answers and am confused. On Craigslist there are some iPhones that say you can unlock the iPhone to Tmobile and some say it only works with AT&T? So, could someone help me understand! I'm interested in possibly getting an iPhone, but I'm with Tmobile......thanks!
 
They mean to say that If you buy a iPhone from AT&T you can unlock/GSM it or if you buy a unlocked iPhone you can use your T-Moblie SIM and it will work 100%
 
Yeah! My friend has an iPhone on TMobile.. It's called flashing it! You take it I think and then ask them if they can flash it. I'm not sure thoufh
