Can I use a verizon phone with alltel now that they switched!?

Hey!
I have a pay as you go alltel phone.
I have the plan with unlimited texting, and a favorite number that I can call at anytime for free.
Alltel recently switched to verizon, well verizon bought them out, and I dropped my alltel phone in a rain gutter and it broke. they do not sell alltel pre paid phones anymore, they just quit selling them a few weeks ago. so if I get a verizon prepaid phone, will it work with my recent alltel plan!?
i have to go to verizon.com to log in and manage my account..so I would think so.
Im getting the verizon blitz
 
Sure would Alltel used the same network as Verizon called CDMA..
Their Technology Should be easily transferable across the 2 companies.
 
verizon bought my wireless company out also,they gave me a choice of pick 1 of 3
phones for free if you want to stay with verizon,also i could keep my same plan and
phone number.go to the nearest verizon store and ask if you can keep your same plan.
