Can I use a straight talk card for my sprint phone?

I have a sprint rant that a friend gave to me, and i want to get a prepaid phone plan, but just temporarily until my old contract expires and i can get an upgrade. can i use the rant and just buy a straight talk pre paid card from walmart and activate it for the phone and it work?

i dont like the straight talk phones can i buy a sprint phone and use a straight talk card?:confused:
