can i use a nextel phone with my sprint contract?

i want to buy a nextel phone but will it work with sprint, i know nextel and sprint are together now but i dont want to buy the phone and then i cant use it... thanks
 
Absolutely, Nextel phones work just fine on the Sprint Network. I have a lot of customers who call in formerly just with Nextel, using the older phones, and they run without a problem on Sprint. I also have many people adding new Nextel phones to Sprint lines. If you're unsure, a quick call in to Sprint and a rep can let you know if the specific model has an errors disabling it from working on it.
