Hey guys

Ive got a cyst , and ive read alot about the aspirin mask but i havent got any aspirins i dont think so could i crush some ibuprofen up instead?

thanks all

I'm going to have to go with a no on this. The aspirin mask works in theory because it has a form of salicylic acid in it. Ibuprofen does not. However, you never know if something will work until you try it. So feel free to experiment and let us know what happens. :)

Just get some aspirin. It's super cheap. Go to walgreens and get a huge bottle of the generic brand. All aspirins are the same, so no reason to get Beyer or anything, just be sure to get uncoated aspirin.

Well, Ibuprofen gel works brilliantly for me, so it should work.

I think it's not the salicylic acid, it's the fact that salicylic acid blocks the COX enzymes, as does ibuprofen.

Yup, aspirin and ibuprofen both treat inflammation, and both can treat pimples by taking the inflammation out of them. I have good luck with Aspercreme ($5 for a large tube in the drugstore.) I dab it on any noticeable pimple.
