Hello my 1993 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is currently using A 95 Amp Alternator, It worked well until I had A car stereo installed, now when I turn the volume up the headlights dim. So I was thinking about buying A police package 130 amp alternator for my car but I don't know if its safe for the car's electrical system, Do I need to buy anything or do anything else besides swapping out the old 95A for the 130A Alternator to make this upgrade? & what are the benefits of more amps? Thanks!

you can change alternators with no problems however even if you do go with a higher amp alt the lights may still dim depending on how much power the car amp draws,so if you install a capacitor to the amp it will smooth out the current draw.

Just put it in,fits and work perfect, just for the better, but if it is a Police version, supposed to have the higher amperes already, for all the extra lighting (loads).

i have a 91 ford tempo i swapped my 95 with 120 because of same reasons when you turn the volume up the lights go dim. i havent had a problem sinse i can now use my under glow with out runnin down my battery
