can i upgrade my phone at walmart?

hi, my phone is part of a family plan and our 2 year contract is over. we are now on month to month and i would like to upgrade my phone.

my question is, can i get the Droid at walmart (they have it for $188 with a 2 yr extension) and just extend my line's activation for 2 years? i tried doing it online through walmart but when i try to add the droid to my cart it makes me select a plan also
 
You are able to upgrade or add features at any Walmart that has your phone in stock. You will be required to have the data package of course, if you go to the Droid or any smartphone since that is a Verizon requirement.
