can i text with a sidekick id using a at&t sim card?

i know you can call and text because text is not a feature like internet. ive seen this done before so can anyone who knows how to do this please help me out?
 
1 - get the sidekick unlocked

2- insert ATT sim card

3- send text message

what do you mean text is not a feature like internet? you should be able to get EDGE speeds on the internet with the sidekick... wont get HSPDA speeds because TMOB and ATT use different RF for there 3G signals...
