he's a male golden retriever and he's had his second shots done so far, so this means no rabies shot, lyme or the others. he hasnt been on flea medication or heartworm yet either

what kind of things should i bring with me to take him camping, (we're bringing food water, kennel, toys, leash, and harness.

Should we try to find a flea med and put him on that, because we are leaving tomorrow afternoon. This was a last minute trip, so should i also call the vet for advice?

Thanks

i think you should ask if you should put him on the medication and if you can bring it and out it on him until done with camping make sure he is well behaved. DONT LET HIM GO OUTSIDE BY HIMSELF!!! make sure he doesnt eat any animals either.

yes call the vet, but hes probably going to tell you to not take your puppy with you. i know you probably really want to, but you need to look out for the puppys best interest. you need to wait untill he has his full set of vaccinations so he is fully protected.

I would definitely not take this puppy camping... without the rabies shot, he could easily get infected and then you'd have to get him put to sleep. If he'd had all of his shots it would be fine.

You will definitely need some sort of flea/tick medication before going, if you do go. Severe fleas can kill a puppy (they give them anemia) so if he gets fleas it is important to give him a flea bath as soon as you get home.

The only problem is lyme. Its commonly contracted through ticks and there are a lot when you go camping.
