Can I take a sport parachute (with AAD) as a carry-on on an international flight?

I'm traveling to Ukraine soon from the USA for a backpacking trip, and I'd like to carry my sporting parachute with me. I have all the documentation including the reserve repack card, Vigil paperwork, and Vigil X-ray card. I know I need to print out a copy of the US FAA regulations, but will I need it for the flight from Munich to Kiev?

Also, any advice on how to protect my handles on a commercial flight?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
