Can I switch my old Tmobile number to my new Virgin mobile phone?

I have a Tmobile Behold that I am turning off on January 1st. Tmobile is good and all, but somehow I end up paying $100 a month for a $79.99 plan!!!! I've hear many stories about prepaid, but at least with that I'm saving $50 monthly. Anyway, I don't wanna have to change my number. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks!
