Can i Sue GM for a security issue that didnt happen??? read more below...?

I own a Hummer H3 and the day before yesterday a piece on the left wheel that controls directions broke, the thing is luckily it broke outside my office and was driving very slowly, but if this piece had broken on a high way (which i was driving 3 days before) i would have probably died there... this has me very pissed off! i went to the hummer service center in my town in mexico and they told me this doesnt enter as guarantee because the guarantee finished 3 months ago its a H3 2006, with 41,000 KM (about 30,000 Miles) so i am not only risking my life in that h3 but also i will have to pay to fix part of the problem (this doesnt give me any guarantee that the other tire is going to break any time soon! can you help me out or tell me of some one that can give me legal advice for a reasonable amount? thanks
 
I don't think Hummer has a 3 year/36,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty. I believe that's for the drivetrain only. The rest is 12 months/12,000 miles. Consult the handbook that came with the truck.
