im goin to get my tonsils taken out but i need to kno if im going to be able to work out [alot of running, bleachers, weights, etc.] or play basketball right after so i can pay for the camps and stuff? can someone tell me?

Well, not for the first week I would imagine. Definitely not the first few days after the surgery. You will not feel like doing much of anything the first two or three days, except laying around. Your throat will be incredibly raw and sore, so drinking will be about all the challenge you will want to deal with. Physically, of course, the surgery has no impact on your legs and you could run. You just won't feel up to it or want to. I imagine by the end of the first week though, you should be back on your feet and able to go back to your usual activities. You might be more easily tired out, since you won't be on full feed at that point, but you could still workout and exercise to the extent you felt like it.

No, you will need to rest and recuperate after surgery. Ask your doctor at your pre-op visit about exercise and what you can expect time-wise. You are having surgery...you can't just expect to be feeling better immediately...it takes a little time.
