I am visiting Ontario from the US. My car is registered in the US. A local car dealer is interested in buying my car knowing that I have not imported it. I assume that they will be paying for and dealing with customs if I sell my car to them. I have the title of the car and their are no liens on it. They said all I need is a recall clearance letter. Does this sound legit? I just don't want to find out later down the road that I owe the Canadian Govt money or that I did something wrong. I assume that since I sell it to them that they will be the ones responsible for any importing charges.
Can I sell my car in Canada even though I am just visiting from the US?
