I've wanted to start on a new project with clay and I remember I had some stashed away. I took it out and I'm trying to knead it but not only is it hard as hell, even after warming it in the microwave, but it's crumbling all over the place. Is there a way to save it or is it lost forever?

What's a better clay to buy than sculpey?

you could try to soak it to death with water, but if it has been stashed away for a long time there isn't much hope. next time, try storing it in a sealed bag with moist paper towels (which you'll have to re-wet every so often). as for good clays, you could try buying artist grade clays- red clay is best for sculpting. it's kinda expensive, but the quality is worth it.
