Can I repair chip in black ceramic stovetop?

The unit is a GE Profile with gas burners, and a flat glossy ceramic/glass top. The edge overlapping the counter has a 1 inch long by quarter inch chip; it is not a functional edge, other than covering countertop. It looks bad because the counter is white. It is really not subject to heat or abuse- other than the bad fortune of dropping an object on the edge!

I'd just buy a new top, but that is over $700! Seems silly, though.

Is there a compound to repair this, to give a close match in appearance?I have access to molding materials, so I could make a mask that could hold a material in place while it cures to duplicate the edge, if that's of any help.

Any ideas?
