I am about 40 years old now and I always compose songs. In the past two months I lost a record of my songs with about 50 compositions. No one around me knows I am doing this and my family isnt aware that I have this talent as well. I have not told anyone as I want to take them by surprise. I have put together about twelve songs I want to record by computer and then I will look for a band to play them with me whilst they are busy selling. I wamt to add other people's songs to make my cd at least 16 songs or even a double c.d if I can. Please advise me whether I am allowed to record other people's music and what are the procedures?
I also have a lot of composition skill in hard core Jazz. I believe that one of my favorite artists, died before he was well known. I therefore want to play and rerecord, and perform his entire album or two of them in one double c.d. Will I be allowed to do this?
