Can i re activate a verizon phone, to sprint?

i was talking to a guy on sprint through the little chat thing and i asked him that and he gave me a website to type in my number to see if it was eligible to change and it was. i have alltel but verizon bought it

Sprint did announce a couple years ago that they would activate non-Sprint CDMA phones on their network, but Verizon would still need to unlock the phone, which they will not do
