Can I race this Motocross bike?

The bike is in really good condition just it is a 1996 Kx 125 and this would be my first time ever doing motocross. I'm really hyped for it and have decided too dedicate my self to my local track. My only question is is this bike going to be too old to race.???? I just want to race I am a really competetive person and sometimes it gets me hurt some times it gets me in trouble but most of the time It gets me the win whether its in baseball, running, or racing it all out wth my friends on our motocross bikes! I want to race soo bad but i deffinately do not have the money for a newer bike this is the only option for me. So I want to know flat out can I race or not.?? its not the mindset that is my problem its the equipment.
 
no its not to old to race just make sure u stay n your class size ..
i got a buddy that races a earily 90's model ktm u should be ok and good luck live ur dream
 
well If your just starting racing then you will start in the 125 beginner class or 250 beginner so YES YOU CAN RACE IT! but if you stick with it and you get better you will NEED to get a new bike because 2-strokes are nearly unheard of anymore in the bigbike classes so you will just be outmatched but for now your good to go!
