Can I put my Xanax pills in empty gel caps?

Right now I'm taking .5mg of Xanax twice daily. As usual, my insurance only pays for generics. For some reason when I take the generic pills, they ALWAYS get stuck in my mouth...and it is the worst thing I've ever tasted! I don't have a problem taking any other pills - I take around 8 a day.

So anyway...I was wondering if I could buy empty gel capsules, and put my fake xanax pills inside, so it's easier to swallow? Would this be safe? Would it change how the xanax works?
 
There's no reason why that wouldn't work. They sell empty gel caplets in health food stores and online.
 
Must admit when I read the topic I was expecting weirdness. You are a great problem solver. Had never thought of that. My Mom has issues with pills. Will pass this on to her.
