What size tank? Do you have a heater and filter? What fish do you have?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Please don't! It will NOT WORK!
The dish washer is NOT safe for fish supplies. They are meant to be for DISHES not FISH. The soap may leave behind residue and even after you rinse it well may STILL HAVE soap left that will kill the fish if you DO was it with soap. You will kill all the good bacteria in the gravel bed and you must cycle ANOTHER TIME before you add anymore new fish. If you don't know what the nitrogen cycle is, PLEASE READ THIS SITE:

If you have brown algae, get two or three ottos, aka ottocinclus. You still have to supplement them with veggies and algae wafers along with the algae on the tank. Just boil the veggies (zuchini, squash, brocolli...) in a pot for 2~3 minuts until they are soft, then sink in the tank and leave it for a few hours, NOT days. http://images.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=otocinclus%20catfish&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
They must need PERFECT water parameters though, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and under 15 ppm of nitrate. Ammonia and nitrite could kill your fish, and the bacteria in the tank is already working, so if you kill the bacteria, you are back to more than just zero of ammonia and nitrite.
Reassembling your fish tank will not work. If you got algae, you probably caused it by feeding too much food and not enough water changes. Once you get your tank set up again, the same problem will happen, guarantee.
EASIEST way is to just get an algae scrubbing pad, so you do not have to worry about getting suckerfish and PERFECT water parameters, although your tank SHOULD already have perfect water parameters..
