My fiesta is a mk5 1.2 1999-2002 and my model doesnt have the electric mirrors, but my friend has the exact same car but with electric mirrors.

can i just buy the mirrors and connect it exactly where my friends electric mirror connector goes? or isn't it that easy?

Can anyone shed any light on to an answer for my question?

i currently just have normal moveable side mirrors but just want to know if i can just buy the electric mirrors and upgrade my ones to the electric ones.

thanks guys.

not straight forward only wish it was, hav ea chat with a friendly Ford mechanic for a start. I would suspect it needs not only the mirrors to be fitted but changes to wiring harness as connections may ? not be there. wiring an entire system in is labour intensive and costly. Not to b undertaken unless you are very aware work needed to be done eg mirrors, motor drives.controls, connection. relays and so on.

You can do it. I have some on my 1997 Ford Aspire. And it didn't even come with them period. You will have to find the mirrors and figure out if you will have to mod anything for them to fit. (You never know). You have to also make sure is there a spot for the control switch for it. Otherwise, woo drilling! But you will also need a power source to run to the motor and the control switch. All i did was fab the mirrors to fit, put in the control switch in the door panel armrest. And put up a source of power. It would be good to put a at least a fuse on it because if it shorts out, It won't short your whole car. I also have installed power windows and locks in my Ford Aspire too so anything is possible with a little time and work. Well i hope this helps and good luck!

Also, You wont need to change your wiring harness. It is like installing the fog lights in my car, All it is, is a control switch, and a motor. I put a source or power to the switch. And the switch to the motor. You don't need to mess with the computer. Not with mirrors that old anyways because the mirror knows what switch does what.

SORRY MAN BUT ITS NEVER THAT EASY! YOUR GONNA NEED RELAYS AN WIRES GOING TO YOUR CARS MAIN COMPUTER SYSTEM! I MEEN ITS A REAL PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT, MY DAD DOES THESE ELECTRIC MIRRORS FOR A BUNCH OF CARS! AN IF YOUR FRIEND HAS THE EXACT SAME CAR THEN HE GOT THEM CUSTOM INSALLED LIKE THAT!
