I have this problem: every 5-6 months I buy a new plastic rag and it cracks and gets destroyed pretty fast. ~$30.
Visiting Home Depot I got an idea: what if I buy ceramic tiles instead. They have wide selection. One tile ~1.5 square feet is ~$1.25 and up. I only need maybe 4-6 of them. And widths range from 1/4 to 3/4 inch.
My concern is: will they crack under the chair? The carpet is average, not too soft not too hard. But the chair will apply pressure in one place only which will stress the tile.
So will the tile crack in such situation? I am ~200 pounds, chair has 5 legs. So the point pressure will be ~40 pounds. How much point pressure can ceramic tile sustain?
