i want to do a swap, i want to put a honda civic vtec into a mazda protege as a school project, now is it possible

Yes, with enough time and money. You will need to get the computer and wiring harness from the civic. You would also have to fabricate custom mounts and get custom axles.

possible yes but worth it no, the protege engine has the tranny on the drivers side and the vtec had the tranny on the passenger side also the radiators wont like up and you will need to reroute a custom exhaust. there are too many things that have to be considered. it would probably be easier to cut the front off the honda and weld it to the mazda or better yet just stick a mazda emblem on the honda and call it a day!!

It would be quite a bit easier to put that Civic engine into another Civic, but it's possible to swap it into the Mazda if you've got the time, skill, mechanical and financial resources to do it. You'll be doing a lot more custom fabricating and "fitting" of parts putting it in the Mazda, but it's not impossible to do.

It would be a pretty original car if you get it done, I'll give you that.

after you spend 10,000 dollars you will have a 1500 dollar car....can you do it? yes...should you do it? NO
