My natural colour is medium ash brown.
I got a full head of blonde hightlights last year and hated them, so my colourist filled in with a red filler and then did an all over colour of warm brown. Since then , my ash brown roots have grown out an inch or two, and the ends of my hair are a kind of faded warm light brown colour with lots of red/yellow undertone.
Obviously my roots are a "cool" shade and the brown in my lengths is a "warm:" shade so it looks stupid. i dont want to put permanent colour on my lengths because my hair is pretty damaged and thin so doesnt withold much damage very well. If i put a semi permanent light-medium ash brown on my hair what will happen? will it fade? will the yellow/orangey/red tones come through? I really want to get my hair to go back to a "cool" shade because that complements my skin most. I dont have the money to go to a hairdresser. thanks.
