Can I put 2.2 on my Cliq

Hi all, nooby here. I have a Cliq and was wondering if I could put 2.2 on it and if there was going to be an official release for it. The phone is nice, but the main reason I got it was so my wife could stream her Viet videos, but then I discovered that there was no Flashplayer app for it. T-mobile keeps oscillating back and forth on which will come first, an updated Flashplayer or 2.2. Getting frustrated here and stuck with this phone for 2 years.
 
No you can't. I got one for my daughter and the highest you can go is 2.1 but only if rooted. I personally don't think the cliq will ever see 2.2 officially. Hopefully the community can get it to work.
 
I thought Motorola was working on a 2.1 release for the Cliq- and perhaps they may just upgrade it to 2.2 instead? This is all decided/developed/tested by Motorola and T-Mobile- so you will need to wait for an official announcement from these guys as to yea/nay on 2.2.

I have a Droid X that is at 2.1 (rumored update to 2.2 in September?) so I am in the same boat for Flash. I don't think Adobe has any plans on supporting Flash for anything before 2.2.

Alternatively, you can root your device and see if anyone has made a custom ROM/Flash package for the Cliq.

Flash is VERY CPU intensive- so the 528Mhz CPU in the Cliq may not be the best at rendering complex Flash pages (I wouldn't try to play Desktop Tower Defense).
