can i polish my bikes wheels HELP NEEDED?

i have a kawasaki zxr 400 with standard purple wheels on it, if i strip the paint of can i polish them up so they look chrome or stainless still thanks
 
The wheels may be aluminum. Either way, you could prolly strip them down and polish them. I would spray a clear sealer on them. Oh and polishing them is a real pain, it ain't easy. If it was, more peeps would be doing it. Just get them chrome dipped or powder coated. It would be better in the long run.

be better to leave them a lone and wash them or repaint them.. if you strip them down they will look like dog doo
 
Yes, they can be polished to look as shiny as a mirror.
Polished aluminum requires more attention than chrome, to retain it's luster.
