Can I paint the curb in front of my house so only I can park there?

I get really frustrated when people park right in front of my house. My mom parks in the driveway and I park right in front, but when I come home and I have nowhere to park, it kills me. So, can I paint my curb hot pink and maybe stencil my name in white? Its not as if you would get a ticket parking there, but it would kind of let you know ITS MY SPOT!!

Hmm can you confiscate public property for personal use .. Isn't that taking someone else rights away for you own use.

Nope, though I know the feeling, it's illegal to do that without proper permission from the county which they will almost certainly not grant to you for something of that nature.

The county owns the curb, and in most residential areas has easement from the road to 10ft. into your yard / property.

I don't think you can. I'm pretty sure the curb isn't your property. It's public property, which means if you paint it, you might get a fine.
