I want to buy a new stove and i was going to change over to gas because we have our electric go out a lot and i would like to still be able to cook when electric is out. And i went to sears and all the new ranges have electronic ignition now and you have to have electric to light the burners which is not that big of a deal i thought well if the electric ever goes out and we want to cook then we can manually light the burners with a match or lighter. But the guy at sears said that they will not light without electric period he said you have to have electric running to it. And i was wondering if anyone know from experience? Now here is what really spun me for a loop the guy said if the burner is lit and the electric goes out the flame will NOT go out but you would not be able to relite it as long as the electric stays out not even with a flame. Now this guy may have not been able to tell me that you can light it with a lighter due to his job requirements. Because if he told me that i could light it with a lighter and i went home and did it and blew up my house then I could sue him because he told me it was alright i don't know what the case is that's why i am trying to figure it out.
