its surely possible... u just gotto install required servers for ur needs... like for web hosting u need to install web server like "Apache" or "Microsoft IIS"...
for mails, u may need some thing like a "mercury mail server"...
If its for use in just lan, it works fine... if u r opening it on internet for public, u may need to hav system with better processor and ram and a fast internet connection....
Ya u can easily transfer files across LAN for sure...
