Can I keep the same phone number if I switch from Virgin Mobile to AT&T or Sprint?

I currently have a cell phone with Virgin Mobile, however it is not a contract phone. It is monthly pay as you go type phone. If I switch to AT&T or Sprint, will I be able to keep my same phone number even if it is a no contract phone that I currently have?
