Can i join the army with a felony?

i've recently been convicted of 4 felony theft charges(not violent)....it is still pending and im sure i will get the felonies dropped b/c they have no evidence....i was just at the wrong place at the wrong time....but any who...im 19 with a good job and no back ground... .and im really wanting to join the army and im afraid if im convicted i wont be eligable...would a waiver work? im sure the recruiters will think im worth the effort...
